itch.io and players
MANDATO reviews
The number on itch.io is the store’s own average. Steam has no user reviews yet. What follows is what players wrote, with names attached.
What I checked
I read the itch.io rating block on 2026-10-06: 4.7 out of 5 from 27 ratings, and 70 comments, of which the research pass saved the latest 40. I am not turning that into a score of my own. On Steam the same day the page said there were no user reviews and one curator review.
What players praise
bruisedbruce wrote that they love the slow lean into madness at the end. Amarruru said the environment is immersive. KuyaWiLz called it a first indie game they ended up loving. not_nic recommended it for a distinctly Filipino feel. On r/PHGamers, posted by xkenoma on 2026-09-10, the thread ran to 79 comments and several people compared the plot to politics they already live with. I am not quoting upvote totals. The archive I used does not keep a reliable score.
What players complain about
Tiny Baubbles wrote that bugs stretched a session to three hours. jaojawGaming wanted more scares and said the jumpscares are few. Another comment says the night scenes are so dark it took a while to find the way. Someone else said they could not work the in-game phone. Those notes match the spots where the walkthrough tells you to slow down: the unlock, and the walk home.
Press
pinoygamer.ph ran a news piece by Juyon Chan on 2026-09-23 and described the game as a Philippines-inspired short, story-driven first-person horror game, then available on itch.io. I do not have an IGN or Kotaku review to cite. If you are looking for a scored review from a large outlet, I have not found one.
